I saw that Apple finally put their fast H2 chips inside these big headphones. You get 1.5 times more noise blocking now because the tech is much better. Try walking into a loud store to see how it hides the sound. I watched the music get quiet as soon as I started talking to my friend. You can hear people speak in a different language and the buds translate it right away. Sudden loud bangs will not hurt your ears because the software makes them soft. There is many ways the new chips make your life easier during the day.
Sound Quality and Performance
The new amp inside makes the low bass notes feel very strong. You will notice that singers sound clearer when you turn the volume up. I think the sound is still warm like the old ones but it feel more sharp now. Use the H2 power to keep the music smooth even when it gets very loud.
Lossless Audio—With a Catch
You must use the USB-C cable if you want to hear the best quality music. I find it sad that you cannot get this high quality over the air. Other companies have better wireless sound than Apple does in 2026. You will need to stay plugged in to hear every tiny part of the song.
New Features Beyond Audio
Click the round button on the top to snap a photo with your phone camera. I like to shake my head to tell Siri no when I am busy. Your voice will sound very clear on the phone even if it is windy outside. It feel a bit weird to move your head while wearing these heavy things.
What’s Still Missing?
Apple kept the same design and that means they do not fold up small. I still hate that you have to use the bra case to turn the power off. Your battery only gives you 20 hours which is less than what other brands offer. These headphones weighs 386 grams so they might make your neck tired. Do not get them wet because there is no protection from water or dust.
Should You Upgrade?
Buy these if you love Apple and you want the best noise blocking they have. I suggest you look at other pairs if you want something light for your bag. Your choice depends on if you like the new chips more than the heavy metal. Spend your money on a different brand if you need a battery that lasts for days.
