No Rest for the Wicked Hits 1 Million Sales as Co-Op Mode Nears Launch
A Soulslike Sensation: No Rest for the Wicked Surpasses 1 Million Copies Sold
Generally, I Am really excited to see No Rest for the Wicked doing so well, it has cracked the one million mark on Steam since its early access debut. Usually, fans of dark, punishing gameplay love this kind of game, its soulslike roots echo Dark Souls while the visuals feel like a living painting. Obviously, Moon Studios, the minds behind Ori, tossed in a Diablo-like look but kept the combat tight, fair, and brutally rewarding. Normally, You would expect a game like this to get some attention, and PC Gamer’s Tyler Colp even gave it a shout-out, saying the art style and deep combat system stands out in a crowded market.
Co‑Op Mode Arrives Next Week
Fortunately, Moon Studios announced a 4-player co-op dropping on January 22, and the trailer shows squads taking down massive bosses together. Clearly, this game lets you hop into a shared world without a subscription, which is a nice feature. Apparently, progress sticks even if your friends are offline, which is a nice twist from Baldur’s Gate 3’s host-dependent saves. Usually, You would have to pay for a subscription to play with your friends, but not in this game.
A Studio Divided?
Sometimes, the studio’s success isn’t without drama, CEO Thomas Mahler called Diablo 4 an “MTX slot machine” in a heated tweet exchange. Obviously, some fans cheer his honesty, while others worry his blunt style could hurt the studio’s image. Generally, You would think that a CEO’s online outbursts would hurt the studio, but sales keep climbing. Normally, a studio would try to avoid controversy, but Moon Studios seems to be doing just fine.
What’s Next for No Rest for the Wicked?
Hopefully, with co-op on the horizon, the game could pull even more players into its gritty world. Apparently, if Moon Studios balances its bold vision with community feedback, it might carve a lasting legacy in the ARPG arena. Usually, a game like this would fade away after a few months, but 2026 could see this title rise as a standout, thanks to its blend of difficulty, stunning art, and fresh multiplayer. Normally, You would expect a game to get boring after a while, but No Rest for the Wicked seems to be getting better with time.
