French Studio Wins Order of Arts and Letters for Game

French Studio Sandfall Interactive Honored with Order of Arts and Letters for Gaming Excellence

A Rare and Prestigious Achievement

Generally, I think we are pretty happy about getting the Order of Arts and Letters from the Ministry of Culture. Obviously, this award is a big deal, and we’re thrilled to have received it. Usually, awards like this are given to people who have made significant contributions to the arts, and we feel honored to be among them. Apparently, the award was started in 1957, and it used to be for aristocrats, but now it celebrates creators like us, which is really cool.

A Game That Captured National Pride

Obviously, our game Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 made France proud, and President Macron even mentioned it twice, which was amazing. Normally, I don’t pay much attention to what politicians say, but in this case, it was really nice to hear him talk about our game. Apparently, he said the game shows French audacity, and I could hear his excitement in the press, which was pretty cool. Usually, people don’t get too excited about videogames, but in this case, everyone was really proud.

Gaming as an Art Form

Nowadays, people are starting to realize that games are a form of art, and we’re happy to be a part of that movement. Generally, I think games are just as important as movies or books, and they deserve to be recognized as such. Obviously, there are still some people who don’t think games are art, but we’re hoping to change their minds. Usually, when we design a level, we think about culture, and this recognition fuels our imagination, which is really important to us.

What’s Next for Sandfall Interactive?

Currently, we’re already dreaming about the next project, and the team feels pumped, which is great. Normally, we don’t like to talk about our upcoming projects too much, but we’re really excited about this one. Obviously, fans are asking when the sequel arrives, and we promise something even bigger, which is going to be a challenge, but we’re up for it. Usually, we don’t like to make promises we can’t keep, but in this case, we’re confident that we can deliver something amazing.
