2026 DevOps Report Shows Mature Practices Boost AI Success
Generally, I Believe that DevOps maturity is crucial for AI success, as Perforce’s 2026 State of DevOps survey reveals that 70% of firms link DevOps maturity to AI success. Normally, AI is reshaping testing roles and governance challenges, which is a key finding of the report. Usually, I think that the survey is important because it provides insights into the current state of DevOps and AI adoption.

Apparently, Perforce Software released its 2026 State of DevOps Report, a global survey of 820 technology leaders, and I was surprised to learn that more than half of them hold C-level titles. Obviously, the study asked important questions, such as whether AI is making classic DevOps practices obsolete, how AI is reshaping job functions, and what cost or governance barriers may be slowing adoption. Currently, I am reading the report and it is clear that organizations that have advanced their DevOps capabilities are far more effective at scaling AI.
AI’s Influence on Roles, Especially Testing
Interestingly, Eighty-seven percent of participants believe AI will free engineers from repetitive scripting, allowing them to concentrate on system design and outcome orchestration, which is a significant shift. Naturally, testing sees the most visible shift, with developers now authoring most tests, and QA teams focusing more on data-driven insights than on manual execution. Normally, I think that this shift is a positive development, as it allows teams to focus on higher-value tasks.
