Fans Spot Possible Legendary in Pokémon Winds & Waves Trailer

Overview

Generally, I am excited about the new Pokémon games. Normally, the franchise does a great job of creating hype. Obviously, the 30th anniversary is a big deal. Usually, I watch trailers multiple times to catch everything. Honestly, the three starters looked cool, but everything else seemed familiar. Sometimes, it’s the little things that get me excited, like a tiny dragon-shaped cloud.

Key Moments in the Trailer

Firstly, a trainer is flipping through Pikachu sketches, and the camera pans out to show a window with a view of the ocean zone. Immediately, I noticed a cloud that looks like a dragon, it was kinda fuzzy but pretty obvious. Later on, there’s an in-game shot that shows the same shape floating above the landscape, so it’s clear it’s not just a random cloud. Normally, I would think it’s just a graphical thing, but this seems different.

What Fans Are Speculating

Some people think that Winds will have a flying-type dragon as its mascot legendary, which would be awesome. Others are saying that Waves will bring a sea monster, maybe something like a new Gyarados. Personally, I think the early sketch looks a bit like Gyarados, but the later render seems different. Apparently, leaks are saying that raid battles will be marked by clouds shaped like the Pokémon, so the dragon cloud could just be a raid marker. Still, a new dragon-type legend would fit the series’ tradition of pairing each region with a mythic creature.

Release Info

Both games are coming out on the new Switch 2 console in 2027, which is pretty exciting. Nintendo seems to be using these titles as a way to sell the new console, not just as a final Switch game. Usually, I think the hype around a game can make or break it, and the cloud thing will keep people talking till the full reveal. Generally, I think the Switch 2 will be a great console, and Pokémon will be a big part of it.

Conclusion

In short, the dragon-shaped cloud could be a new legendary dragon, a Gyarados raid cue, or something totally unexpected. Fans will keep analyzing every frame, and the speculation will only grow as the launch gets closer. Obviously, I am excited to see what the games will be like, and the cloud thing has just added to the hype. Usually, I think it’s a good thing when fans are this excited, it means the game will be big.
