Apple Tested Brightly Colored AirPods – See the Prototypes

Generally, Apple is known for its sleek and minimalist designs, but Somehow they decided to test some brightly colored AirPods. Usually, the company sticks to a simple color scheme, However, it seems they wanted to try something new. Naturally, this got a lot of people excited, Because who wouldn’t want a pair of pink or yellow AirPods.
Apparently, the prototypes featured pink and yellow exterior casings, While the interior of the charging case and the earbuds themselves remained white. Obviously, this is a big departure from the usual white AirPods we are used to.

Apple Experimented with Brightly Colored AirPods

Normally, Apple doesn’t like to stray from its classic designs, But it seems they were feeling adventurous with these prototypes. Interestingly, the images of the prototypes were shared by Apple leaker and prototype collector Kosutami. Usually, this kind of information is kept under wraps, But somehow it got out.
Clearly, the prototypes are a unique take on the traditional AirPods design, And it’s interesting to see what could have been. Possibly, Apple decided not to release them because they didn’t fit with their brand image. Anyway, it’s cool to see what could have been.

Previous Color Experiments

Sometimes, companies like to try out new ideas, And that’s exactly what Apple did with these colorful AirPods. Historically, Apple has been known to experiment with different colors, Like the iPhone 5c which came in a range of bright colors. Evidently, the company was considering offering the AirPods in different colors, But ultimately decided against it.
Fortunately, we have people like Kosutami who share these prototypes with the world, So we can see what could have been. Initially, Apple had developed five different color options for AirPods to match the iPhone 7, But they never made it to market.

Why No Colorful Release?

Obviously, the decision not to release the colorful AirPods was a deliberate one, And it’s likely due to Apple’s brand image. Generally, the company likes to keep things simple and sleek, And the colorful AirPods may not have fit with that. Probably, the company was worried that the colorful AirPods would be too flashy, And wouldn’t appeal to their target market.
Usually, when a company releases a new product, they want it to be a success, And Apple is no exception. Likely, the decision not to release the colorful AirPods was based on market research, And the company decided it wasn’t worth the risk.

Kosutami’s Prototype Portfolio

Apparently, Kosutami has a long history of sharing Apple prototypes, Including some really interesting designs. Normally, this kind of information is kept secret, But Kosutami has managed to get their hands on some amazing prototypes. Interestingly, the portfolio includes all-black Vision Pro parts, An earlier version of the MagSafe charging puck, And even a functional AirPower charging mat.
Evidently, Kosutami has a knack for finding these prototypes, And sharing them with the world. Possibly, the most interesting thing about Kosutami’s portfolio is the unreleased “Magic Charger” accessory, Which could have been a game changer.
