Sleep Score Refinement
Apple has released the release candidate for watchOS 26.2, indicating the update is nearly ready for public release. This update brings three notable changes to your Apple Watch. First, the Sleep Score feature has been refined. Sleep Score analyzes your sleep data, including duration, bedtime, and interruptions, and provides an overall score out of 100. In watchOS 26.2, the scoring system has been adjusted to be more conservative. The new ranges are: Very Low (0–40), Low (41–60), OK (61–80), High (81–95), and Very High (96–100). Additionally, the “Excellent” score has been renamed to “Very High” for consistency.
Music App Glitch Fixed
Second, a glitch in the Music app has been fixed. Users had reported issues with the app not playing the next song. This update resolves that problem, ensuring a smoother listening experience.
Enhanced Safety Alerts
Finally, watchOS 26.2 introduces Enhanced Safety Alerts. This feature will warn you about imminent threats such as floods, natural disasters, and other emergencies. It also includes maps and links to official safety advice, further solidifying the Apple Watch’s role as a health and safety device.
Rollout Timeline
The update is expected to roll out later this month if no major issues are found during the release candidate phase.
