Artemis II Astronaut Menu: What They’ll Eat on Lunar Mission

Mission Overview

I watch NASA get the Artemis II rocket ready for a very big trip. You will see four brave people fly around the moon for ten days. It is the first time we go back there since the Apollo missions ended. I know the food bags stay sealed so the meals do not float away.

Food Philosophy & Preparation

Do not worry about dry food because these meals taste great. Scientists helped the crew pick meals that stay good for years. You must heat your lunch in a small cooking spot called the Orion galley. There is no fridge on this ship so every bite comes from a bag.

Sample Menu

Breakfast

I think granola and blue berries make a very tasty snack for the morning. You drink hot tea or coffee to get your energy up fast.

Lunch & Dinner

The team eats beef brisket and macaroni for their big meals. I like that they use tortillas to hold the food together. You need to eat spicy beans and mango salad for your health.

Snacks & Beverages

I see them grab nuts or fruit when they feel hungry. Your beverage list has smoothies and cocoa but no beer is allowed.

Why It Matters

I feel this test helps us get ready for a trip to Mars. NASA studies the food to see what works best for long trips. You will stay safer in space when the food is high quality.
