Galaxy Watch FE Receives Long‑Awaited Wear OS 6 Update
Rollout Details
Samsung has begun rolling out the Wear OS 6 update for the Galaxy Watch FE in South Korea, with the update expected to reach other regions soon. This update, with firmware version R861XXU1CYK6, brings a significant redesign and several new features to the smartwatch, along with the October 2025 security patch.
Potential One UI 8 Watch Update for Older Models
Given that the Galaxy Watch FE is essentially a rebranded Galaxy Watch 4, it’s possible that the One UI 8 Watch update could also land on the older model. However, considering the pace of the rollout, Galaxy Watch 4 users might have to wait a few more weeks.
How to Install the Update
To install the update, users can navigate to the Watch software update section in the Galaxy Wearable app on their smartphone and select the Download and install option. After downloading, tap the Install now button to start the installation. It’s recommended to keep the watch on its charging puck to ensure it has enough battery to complete the update.
New Features in One UI 8 Watch
The One UI 8 Watch update includes new Samsung Health features such as Antioxidant Index, Bedtime Guidance, Running Coach, and Vascular Load. It also introduces an improved tiles interface, the new Now Bar, and additional watch faces. However, it’s not clear if all these features will be available on the Galaxy Watch FE.
Other Tech News
In other news, Samsung’s upcoming premium earbuds, the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro, have leaked with new features like Head Gestures. Additionally, a new app called LibrePods aims to bring full AirPods functionality to Android and Linux users. For those interested in longevity tech, the Hume Band is offering a Black Friday promo with up to 50 % off.
Looking Ahead
For now, Galaxy Watch FE users can look forward to enjoying the new Wear OS 6 update and the fresh experience it brings to their smartwatch.
