iOS 26.2 Update: New Features and Improvements

Alarms for Reminders

The Reminders app now allows users to set alarms for their reminders. By toggling on the “Urgent” option when creating a reminder, users can ensure they don’t miss important tasks. The alarm includes a snooze option and a slide‑to‑stop feature. If snoozed, a Live Activity countdown appears on the Lock Screen, providing options to complete or reschedule the reminder.

A new Liquid Glass slider lets users customize the appearance of the time on their Lock Screen. Users can adjust the transparency to make the time look clear or frosted. Additionally, there’s a warning about using the Tinted option with certain accessibility settings.

AirDrop Security

iOS 26.2 enhances AirDrop security by adding an extra layer of verification for unknown contacts. Users can generate an AirDrop code on the receiver’s device, which can be entered on the sender’s device to complete the transfer. This feature allows AirDrop to work for a 30‑day period.
