iOS 26.4 Enhances Health App with Bedtime Insights and Blood‑Oxygen Graph
Generally, I Think iOS 26.4 is pretty cool because it adds some new features to the Health app. Normally, You would have to use a separate app to track your sleep and blood-oxygen levels, but now it’s all in one place. Obviously, This makes it way easier to see how your sleep and oxygen levels are related.
Average bedtime displayed in the Sleep view
Usually, I Have trouble sleeping, but with the new Sleep Highlight feature, I can see exactly what time I fell asleep each night, which is really helpful. Apparently, The average bedtime metric is calculated from the past two weeks, so You can see how your sleep patterns change over time. Sometimes, I notice that my sleep quality is better when I go to bed at the same time every night, so this feature is really useful for me.

Background on the blood‑oxygen controversyHistorically, Apple has had some issues with its blood-oxygen sensor, mainly because of a patent dispute with Masiro. Essentially, The company accused Apple of infringing on its blood-oxygen sensor patents, which led to the U.S. International Trade Commission blocking imports of Apple Watch models with the feature. Naturally, Apple had to disable the sensor to keep the Watch on the market, but now it’s available again, at least for iPhone-only readings.
Availability
Currently, iOS 26.4 is being tested by developers and public beta participants, which means it’s not available to the general public yet. Hopefully, Apple will roll out the update to all iPhone users in the spring, so everyone can start using the new features.
Overall impact
Ultimately, The update shows that Apple is committed to providing more actionable health data to its users, especially when it comes to sleep habits. By giving users a way to track their bedtime consistency and oxygen saturation, iOS 26.4 is helping people make smarter choices about their lifestyle.
