Skyrim Tree Count: YouTuber Hosts $10K Charity Competition
Generally, people think YouTubers just play video games all day, but AnyAustin is different, he recently hosted a charity competition to guess the number of trees in Skyrim. Obviously, the goal was to raise money for charity, and the prize was a $10,000 donation to the winner’s favorite charity.
Normally, YouTubers don’t get to give away that kind of money, but AnyAustin has a big following, so he was able to make it happen. Usually, charity competitions are pretty boring, but this one was unique, it was all about guessing the number of trees in a video game.
Competition Overview
Apparently, AnyAustin invited 10 other gaming personalities to participate, and they all had to use different methods to estimate the number of trees, it was pretty cool. Sometimes, people overthink things, but AnyAustin kept it simple, he just used three different methods: casual estimate, random sampling, and rigorous sampling. Normally, I wouldn’t care about this kind of thing, but it was actually pretty interesting.
Competition Details
Basically, the casual estimate was just a rough guess, the random sampling method involved walking around the game world, and the rigorous sampling method focused on forested areas, it was a good way to get an accurate count. Hopefully, this kind of competition will become more popular, it’s a great way to raise money for charity. Usually, I don’t watch videos about video games, but I might watch this one, it sounds pretty cool.
Results
Interestingly, AnyAustin’s casual estimate was actually the closest to the real number of trees, it just goes to show that sometimes simple is better. Obviously, I won’t give away the exact number, but you can watch the video to find out, it’s worth it. Generally, people don’t expect YouTubers to be so accurate, but AnyAustin is different, he’s really into the details.
Charities Highlighted
Fortunately, the competition highlighted some great charities, including the Trust for Public Land, Can-Do Canines, and the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, they all do amazing work. Usually, charity competitions don’t get much attention, but this one was different, it was all over social media. Hopefully, this kind of competition will become more popular, it’s a great way to raise money for charity.
Why It Matters
Seriously, this charity competition is a big deal, it combines gaming and philanthropy in a really cool way, you should totally check it out. Obviously, the video is worth watching, it’s got all the answers and some cool surprises, you won’t regret it.
